Scholarships available to students from the region
East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship: Funding for masters or doctoral students from Asia, the Pacific, and the United States to participate in educational, cultural, residential community building, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program: Funding for graduate students to participate in residential, educational and leadership programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study in ADB-approved fields at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa .
United States South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP): Provides educational opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from South Pacific nations in fields of study meeting development needs in the Pacific islands region. Funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the East-West Center.
Hawai‘i Pacific Foundation Doctoral Research Award: Supports dissertation research that promotes educational access for Native Hawaiians or demonstrates a commitment or contribution to the study of issues important to the Native Hawaiian community.
Development Research for Oceania Pipeline (DROP): Provides support for graduate thesis and dissertation policy-oriented research related to priority Pacific development issues identified in consultation with the East-West Center and senior officials of Pacific Developing Member Countries (PDMC).
PROJECT Governance (PROGOV) Graduate Fellowship: USAID funding to support promising young leaders from Pacific Island countries to earn a one-year professional degree at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in the fields of finance, information systems, or law.
