Despite its positive outcomes, Korea’s education is now at a crossroads with many challenges to be addressed. The EWC-KIPF Workshop will examine issues relevant to understanding Korea’s education policy in the past and a new direction for it. Topics for investigation and discussion include the quality of education, effectiveness of public school system vs. private tutoring, competitiveness and accountability of higher education, and the linkage of public education and economic environments. This workshop also places Korea’s experience into a broader international perspective by comparing Korea’s case with other countries’ experiences.
